Pastor
A Season of Gratitude and a New Beginning
After 34 years of faithful service to the Lord and New Testament Baptist Church, Pastor Fred Barton retired in March of 2026. The church family of NTBC is truly grateful and blessed for the ministry, leadership, and love that Pastor Barton and his dear wife, Debbie, have faithfully given throughout the years.
Pastor Barton was a devoted member of NTBC even before becoming Pastor. It was during his time serving in the church that he was called to preach. Through the years, the Lord has richly blessed him and his family, using them to see souls saved and to bring honor and glory to His name.
We are deeply thankful for the Barton family’s faithful service, personal sacrifice, and Christ-like example.
Welcoming Our New Pastor
New Testament Baptist Church is pleased to welcome our new Pastor, Andrew Sanford, and his wife, Dana.
The Sanfords are originally from Utah, where both came to know the Lord through church planting ministries. Andy was saved at the age of 10 in 1987 at a storefront Southern Baptist church plant in Tremonton, Utah. Dana was the first person saved at Calvary Baptist Church in Tremonton, Utah, in 2001 under the ministry of Dr. Cooper P. Abrams.
While faithfully serving at Calvary Baptist Church, Andy was called to preach and later graduated from Bethany Divinity Baptist Bible College and Seminary in 2016. That same summer, he became Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.
In 2024, the Lord began working in Andy and Dana’s hearts, leading them to relocate to King, North Carolina, in May of 2025.
After months of prayer and seeking God’s direction, they visited NTBC—drawn by curiosity about the “little church” down off the road. From their very first Sunday, it was clear to them that they had found home. The Lord moved in a special way, and after a season of prayer and preaching, the church family of NTBC called Andy to serve as Pastor.
A Message from Pastor Sanford
“We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior at New Testament Baptist Church in King. We look forward to all that the Lord has in store for us and NTBC in the days ahead.”
